We learn the same recipes, draw from similiar resources, use the same equipment and ingredients to create the same cocktail. The result is the same, but the journey is different. We get there via our speed skill and ultimately, Style.
A touch of style!
Style is the fun bit of the job. Making drinks using fancy moves; treating people like guests and not just customers; selling the good stuff; being interesting..
Style comes from mimicking movements and fitting them into your own repertoire until it becomes second nature. Because style comes from working alongside many individuals, taking the best and leaving the rest, we have given you links to other sites whose style we like.
Check out the 'Oddness' page, taking style along way from home.
Or simply.....
Having a guy with Angus's experience and knowledge come to Norway is great for bartenders working here as we get exposure to the wider drinks scene and learn a lot from one who knows from wide experience. One thing I thought could have helped was sending ahead to the participants a bit more info about the course content so we could have been a little more prepared with questions, ideas etc...at least if we had the alconomics.com site to peruse we would have been familiar with Angus's teaching programme and could have perhaps asked for more of a focus on the techniques, but overall a top presentation, full of valuable info to take back behind the bar. Thanks
